Greg Kotlinski won the Spear Point (March 26 2023) using the Manners Carbon Fiber ELR stock with the Adjustable Bag Rider option with a new rifle and no prep.

WOW! I guess staying relaxed and having no expectations really takes the pressure off. It took 4+ years, but I finally snagged my first ELR win at Spearpoint Ranch yesterday. Huge thanks to Steve Wirth for hosting and giving us the opportunity to try to connect at 2 miles and beyond!

And………. I finally got on the 2 mile plate that has eluded me in matches and practice for years! Kudos to Brian Cattaneo for his spotting. He’s the best.

I showed up with a new rifle. I didn’t have time to do any prep prior to the event. I’m shocked at how well the platform performed.

WORLD RECORD - Stanley Cutsforth set a new Cold Bore World Record at 2560yds (36" plate), and also won the Spring Canyon match for the second time in a row. With three consecutive cold bore impacts at 2560 yards and two impacts on the 3700yd plate. The Manners Carbon Fiber ELR stock with the built in Adjustable Bag Rider was used this year and his previous rifle with an Adjustable Bag Rider was used for last years win.

Stanley is using the new Manners Carbon Fiber ELR stock with the Adjustable Bag Rider option.

Stanley Cutsforth flew down to Raton New Mexico on (May 20, 2022) to shoot in the Spring Canyon match to have some fun and represent the sponsors and was lucky enough to come out on top with the win.

Stanley Cutsforth took 1st again at Raton Thunder the following week - 2nd Place is Randy Ofstad with an ABR on his Steyr .460, 6th Place is Scott Kierstead with an ABR on his Desert Tech and 15th Place is Chase Stroud with an ABR on his Cadex

THUNDER VALLEY PRECISION ELR MATCH - 1ST PLACE WINNER

If you are shooting against me at a place where the terrain allows me to use an ABR and a Phoenix bipod ...and you aren't using an ABR....you are giving me an insane advantage. You can be a better shooter than me...using better equipment than me....and utilizing a better ballistics platform than me....and I should still be able to hang with you....that's how good the system works together. The ABR is a hidden secret that is about to explode across the ELR, Tactical Bench-rest, and F-Class scene. If you don't have one yet...you will.

A lot of us have a problem with Sympathetic Squeeze. I have it, you may or may not have it. When I'm squeezing the rear bag and I'm squeezing the trigger...I tend to sympathetically squeeze the bag more...thus raising the rear bag and sending one in the dirt. I've done it way too many times to admit. I have practiced dry firing with focus on this problem . I have mitigated this problem somewhat...but I found, personally, the easiest remedy for the problem was installing an ABR...aka the Adjustable Bag Rider from Long Shot Precision. I couple this with a Phoenix Precision Bi-pod and joy oh joy...I can shoot with the big boys. The Phoenix allows me to quickly set coarse adjustments for height when I go from say 1k to 1 mile. The ABR allows me to fine tune the hold, very quickly and precisely. During the 2021 TVP ELR Invitational...When used with a heavy sand bag...I could hold that plate at 2336 yards shot after shot with no problems of returning on target. Even though that target is 36" and looks like a postage stamp at 27x, I could easily keep my hold on that target precisely each and every time.

Randy Wise - tie for third place ELR Match at Thunder Valley Precision

This was the first ELR match of the year (2021) for me using the factory Savage Arms Elite Precision rifle chambered in 338 Lapua. The Arken Optics EP4 and the ABR preformed perfectly and I am extremely happy with both. 5/2021

Congratulations Matt for the Second Place finish at the “Unholy Alliance ELR Match”. He had only just received the ABR and only did three shots to test zero. That adds a second place to the two First place finishes for the ABR. 4/2021

Scott Kierstead -

NRA Whittington Center ELR Range in Raton, NM

Scott took home 3 First Place Trophies after mounting the ABR only the day before.

“This weekend at Raton fifty caliber 1000 yard match. Was really windy 18 to 40 mph . Shot a 6.25 inch screamer at my 1st target. And an 8.25" group on my last target. All in all it was a great weekend of shooting. Nice to see all the long hours of hand loads and load development paying off. Used my new ABR bag rider for the 1st time - was very smooth on recoil and adjustment for elevation is top notch. Was able to use for practical 600 and hunter class.”

“I finally had some time to work on my new Savage Arms Elite Precision chambered in 338 Lapua and I think this is going to be a lot of fun. This rifle was supplied to me by Savage Arms for use in the 2020 NRA/ELR National Match after setting the ELR Central World Record in the 2019 National Match with a factory Savage I bought used from a shooting buddy. Due COVID-19 the 2020 NRA/ELR National Match and several others were canceled so it was put on the back burner for a while. This year it looks like things will be back to normal and I will once again be making the trip to the NRA/ELR National Match where I will be competing with this outstanding rifle. Modular Driven Technologies - MDT also contributed to this rifle with the needed accessories to get the rifle properly weighted and balanced. As you can see this thing is a shooter and I’m really looking forward to stretching its legs a little. The first 3 shots in the group all cut the same hole with the 4th shot being a damn it shot.”

This was at the black bear shooting complex precision rifle and extreme long range shooting course the teachers was Sam graham and Jay Monych I was able to reach out and get 4 hits on steel at 1,863 yards not bad for someone who hasn’t hit steel past 200 yards I highly recommend your bag rider and actually was showing it to a few other guys there it was extremely easy to use and high quality thanks again for an amazing product

Congratulations Randy Wise & Dave Unkefer shared win!

“We definitely had a great time at the match. This was my first match of the year using a rifle and also my first match using the Long Shot Precision ABR which worked great. Once again I can’t say enough good things about these McGowen Barrels, this 6.5x47 is one of the early cut rifle test barrels that McGowen sent me and it is a hammer. Looks like maybe I should use the funny long guns more often!”

RPR with Adjustable Bag Rider Testimonial

Subject line ; I love my ABR!

“Here are some pictures taken June 12, 2020 (day before the match) and June 13 (day of match).

On June 13th I shot my best score of 400 -34X with my Ruger Precision Rifle in 556.  It was only a 200 yard match, but 400-34X is 400-34X!!!  I shot the best score out of all the competitors.  I may have shot better if they would have replaced the target face, as I lost the X ring with shot cover up tape.  That is my excuse .

I have competed up to 1000 yards.  The range I am a member at only has up to 200 yards.  I am hoping to get back to Camp Perry once this COVID pandemic clears up.”

“Using the MPA ABR today was a magical experience for me. The ease of adjustment was silly stupid. I don’t know how I ever shot long range before. Today was the beginning of load development for the new 37xc. Can’t wait to go out again.”

I got to spend some time on the range today, and, my initial impressions of the Long Shot Precision LLC ABR were confirmed. The fit and finish are impressive, and it is a solid rider with Zero unwanted movement. The adjustment wheel is extremely smooth, and precise allowing me to get the gun on target, hold it there and the only movement is from my heartbeat. If you ignore the flyer to the left, because that was me, this would have been the smallest 5 round group I ever shot, as it is, it is the best 4 round group if have ever shot , the only thing I changed on my rifle was the bag rider. For me, it was without doubt worth the money.

David, Testing is taking longer than expected but going well. The bag rider makes shooting sub moa groups easy. I still have to shoot 86-90 grain IMR 8133 to find my smallest ES. while cleaning the barrel every 3 rounds/ between graduations in powder to keep the testing repetitive. I expect 87-88 grains will be max load. I’m getting close. I love the rider, i’m looking at putting an MDT chassis under my custom Savage 110 so I can put another Bag Rider under it. In 2021 i’m going for my 1 mile cert w/ my bag rider equipped 300WM RPR. Thank you for making such a precision product. Mxxx Pxxxx

Proof is in the ABR. Using the ABR on my RPR 6.5 Creedmore. 2 shots at 500 yards.

This Adjustable Bag Rider ( ABR) from Precision Long Shot works very, very well at helping to stabilize the rifle for long range shooting as well as shorter ranges. Very simple to install. Took me 5 minutes to install. Great product and well worth the investment! Great job Dave!

“Dave, the ABR provides a sizable improvement in maintaining a repeatable point of aim.

Once the target elevation was set via the ABR control knob, it did not move.

I was aiming at a 200 yards target. The ABR adjusted smoothly over its full range.

I no longer needed to squeeze a rear bag to achieve point aim elevation change: a welcome improvement and fatigue eliminator.

Here are a couple of pictures.

Thanks for an excellent solution to the rear bag elevation adjustment.”

Hey David,

I haven't been able to shoot much bc it's been so hot here. 107 today.

Did get out this morning to shoot some long distance out in the field.

1,237 yards and 1,515 yard rock faces.  The ARB almost makes it too easy. The ability to fine tune your hold and rock solid stability provides high consistency and repeatability.

 I am now officially spoiled.

Our range starts at 350 and goes out to 1,250. The 350 to 550 are  at a slight downhill, then it flattens out, and then rises. So before, i had to constantly adjust either the front rest, or the rear bag(s), or both to progress through the targets.

Now i can just dial up or down with the ABR without adjusting the front or rear rest.

“I am extremely happy with the ABR. It is exactly what I was looking for for years. It has stopped the rifle from torquing. Now the rifle recoils straight back. The flat sides and bottom fit perfectly in my rear bag. The adjustability of it allows me to set the height so I don’t need additional boards or blocks to achieve the correct height. I really think you thought of everything and will highly recommend it to everyone.”

Received 4/5/2020 (RPR)

I received the ABR over the weekend, and this thing is a piece of art. I can't believe how rock solid and smooth it is. I did get it mounted up, which was a piece of cake, and the directions were easy to follow. I'm still waiting on the limbsaver pad, and a proper bag to use it with which will both be here next week.

I'm actually very new to shooting and just do some casual target shooting. I'd like to potentially get into competing in the future. I'm shooting 6.5C. I did take it out for a quick test minus the new recoil plate and properly sized bag.

I had an Accu-shot monopod I had been using and it was immediately noticeable how much more stable the ABR was. Zero wobble with the ABR. I shot 2 three shot groups, and they were each the best I'd ever done by some margin. About 1" was quite typical before, and these were both under 1/2". I've attached a few pictures.

Let me get back to you with my complete thoughts once I get the rest of what I'm waiting for, and get back out for a final impression. I can get you some additional pics of my setup and such. Already super impressed though, and can't wait to get back out.

Thanks,

Jxxxxx Dxxxxx

After ABR was installed

6/25/2020 Update (from above)

I'm super happy with the ABR. Compared to my accushot monopod, that thing is solid as a rock. I'm still using it with one of the cheap caldwell v-bags, but even so my average group @100 went from an inch or so, down to 0.5" or a touch under for 5 shot groups. To be honest, I'm not sure there's anything I would recommend changing. I think it's great as is, certainly the single most helpful upgrade I've made. I can't believe I don't see more RPR guys running them.

Thanks again!

I received the ABR yesterday. After verifying it’s operational stability I proceeded with installation which was a breeze. What I did spend a lot of time was re-aligning the buffer tube vertical to the bore/scope. It was horrible from the factory. I pulled out a couple of bags and started playing with the slider. My first impression is that this thing is absolutely sick. (in a good way) I can’t wait to get it to the range this weekend. I would like to add that not only does the functionality appear to be over the top, but the form and fit are first class. I don’t think I could have done any better myself. To quantify that statement, I’m the director of Mechanical Engineering for an Avionics company that does $100,000,000 a year with 350 employees. I’ve been here for 46 years, 20 of which were in manufacturing and I only have a high school degree. Obviously I didn’t get where I am without being quite a bit more than just capable. I’m not easily impressed and so far I’m very impressed with the ABR. The range will tell the story, but handling the rifle at the house with it installed, I can’t see how it could be anything but a complete success. Thank you for helping me pull the trigger on this purchase through our communications and again, I’m really looking forward to working with it at the range.

Bag Rider 2.jpg

I am shooting a 7mm-300WM. Doing load development now at 100yds. Will be shooting with it to 3000 yds. In March. Happy with it. Very nice product. Gunsmith was so impressed with it he is going to buy one and put on his gun. Modified an AWT chassis to fit it and drilled two holes in the recess area of the top piece of the bag rider to attach it, very solid. Thanks for building such a nice piece of gear.   I know it helps my hand, not having to squeeze that sand bag all the time. Getting older and hands are wore out, don’t work like they used to

12/16/19 Update:

Well I tried your Adjustable ABR this weekend out to 1000 yards. I found that it adjusts prefect for that distance easily. Also tried Plate n Pad combination it feels really good for my body position. The recoil plate was installed on my Ruger in 300PRC which works well in position n recoil for a Magnum

I installed an ABR on my 6.5 CM RPR. It took less than 10 minutes! All I can say is ‘Wow’! My rifle was rock solid and I could very easily make very fine height adjustments on the target without ever leaving my shooting position. You have to try this thing to believe what it does. My groups at 300 yards have always been around 2 inches. I’m shooting 5 shots in to less than an inch consistently! That’s below 1/2 MOA folks! Why didn’t anyone think of something like this before? Great Product. Highly recommended! Thanks LSP!

Just received my new ABR unit , took about 10 min. Ease of installation and function of this unit is way beyond my expectations, but I can truly tell you that this is a very well designed and manufactured piece of equipment. The micro adjustments, fine tuning, hand relief, stability, ease of adjustment and overall function is absolutely the best. They are not cheap, but precision is not cheap and if you shoot distances you know to be competitive you either go big or go home. Thanks
