Long Shot Precision LLC was formed in 2019 to bring the radical new designs of Dave Pobutkiewicz to the world of long range shooting. 

Dave has over twenty years of experience in fabrication and tool and die.  He has been hunting and shooting from a very young age.  His passion and focus drives him to perfection in all sports and hobbies of interest.  

Dave recognized there was a glaring gap in the world of long range shooting. Everyone knows that precision shooting requires significant stability. That usually means bulky bench rests and sleds that systematically take the shooter out of the process of shooting. Not satisfied with the status quo, Dave’s vision went in a whole new direction when he designed the patent pending Adjustable Bag Rider.

He took the precision of a machine rest and made it part of the rifle starting with the incredibly popular Ruger Precision Rifle! Now you can have a standard bipod up-front and unheard of precision adjustment and stability on the back end. Welcome to the next generation of long range shooting.

After purchasing one of the original Ruger Precision Rifles, Dave immediately began adding enhancements to decrease his group size and improve his competitive edge. This included a new 26" barrel, custom reamer, new bipods, a 30 MOA scope base, a new handguard and new triggers. Still, no matter what Dave purchased, groups didn't shrink the way he had hoped or expected. Then it dawned on him: what he needed was a rock-solid platform that removed variances due to natural body movement. Dave knew some of the variations came from the squeezing, settling and inconsistencies of using a rear sand sock. In addition, his hand tired from having to maintain the squeeze on the bag while waiting on the wind to cooperate to make the shot.

Dave contemplated buying a heavy rear bag, but it wouldn't solve the need for vertical adjustment. He considered buying an adjustable front rest, but the weight and expense were prohibitive. He realized there was nothing available that gave him the functionality he wanted. He decided to put his talents to work to design and build his own solution. In 2017, Dave began using his tool and die experience to develop something brand new in his machine shop. This was the beginning of the Adjustable Bag Rider.

Dave’s goal was to create a vertical adjustment tool that was light weight and could easily be installed with existing clamps and bolts to the Ruger Precision Rifle. He began working on a prototype that lacked some functionality, but proved the ABR would work. The addition of linear bearings to the second prototype nailed the design. After two competitions he was ranked Master. Dave is currently ranked High Master and has only used a bipod and an ABR in all 4 competitions.
